Prefabrication Services West Electric Group has an extensive shop designed to perform the prefabrication of electrical components into ready to install assemblies. Building the systems in the shop ensures consistent quality, cost effective installations and greater control of hazards. Some of the benefits of prefab include: Increased Production Labor Savings Ability to meet demanding schedules Quality control and consistency Minimize exposure to job site hazards Meeting budget requirements Job preplanning and layout Our prefab facility is managed by a full-time Prefab Superintendent with years of field experience as a licensed journeyman electrician. The qualified staff is capable of constructing temporary power, electrical boxes, conduit bends, fixture assemblies, MC cable whips, pre-wiring of electrical panels and many other systems and solutions.
Pre-Construction a. Design assist with design consultants: West Electric Group will stay in constant contact with the Electrical Engineer to discuss and present design ideas and cost savings options at every level of drawings, or when an option is to be evaluated. b. Scheduling: West Electric Group will allocate all the time required to make all pricing deadlines, and to constantly monitor our progress with the contractor's schedule of the entire project. c. Identification and procurement of long-lead equipment: West Electric Group will secure a minimum of (3) quotes on all major items for your project and monitor lead times from 1st quote to the time it is required to be on the job site, those items we see as possible long lead items: Switchgear Light Fixtures Fire Alarm (depending on manufacturer and specifications) Special Systems (intercom, paging, sound) Generator Lightning Protection Systems d. System Analysis: West Electric Group will compare and review all systems for your project with the design team to assure that all systems will meet the owner's operating and functioning requirements, along with staying within the established budget. e. Cost Estimating: West Electric Group will do cost comparisons for your project against other comparable projects we have completed, and then provide solutions and recommendations to reduce or to control costs. f. Value Engineering: West Electric Group will provide cost saving ideas in every area, to the design team, but will not jeopardize the quality or operating of the project for the owner. g. Life Cycle Costing: West Electric Group will provide payback analysts for any system or equipment that appears to be above industry standards in cost.
Construction a. Project Management: The Project Manager provides input to the design on cost saving ideas, along with installation ideas and problems, while providing solutions to any problems. The Project Manager also performs the pre-construction services, resulting in less confusion and a consistent flow of information. The project manager provides support to all field personnel and will coordinate all submittals, shop drawings, coordination drawings and delivery dates for the project, in conjunction with the foreman's input. b. Supervision: Our field foreman handles all the day-to-day issues with the project and provides input and support to the General Contractor's supervisor. The foreman along with the Project Manager review on a weekly basis, the cost of the project compared to the budgets, the project schedule and provide alternatives for any possible problems that may arise. c. Coordination: The Project Manager and the Superintendent perform all coordination with the General Contractor and the design team regarding budgeting and ability to construct. The Field Superintendent deals with field coordination issues and the Project Manager handles all the office coordination to help support the field personnel. d. Value Engineering: West Electric Group provides any and all cost saving ideas to the design and construction teams to make sure all angles have been reviewed and that all parties are satisfied with the final product. e. Inspection: West Electric Group has all inspections performed by the jurisdictions having authority and coordinates all inspections in a timely manner, so not to affect the project schedule. f. Quality Control: West Electric Group's Superintendent in conjunction with the General Contractor will constantly be monitoring quality, by performing inspections and addressing any quality issues on a daily basis. g. Safety Program: West Electric Group has an extensive safety program in place. Our full time Safety Manager is strictly responsible for safety on every job site. The Safety Manager proactively monitors work conditions and potential safety problems.
